I love my job because I am given the opportunity to make people’s lives easier in a way that many people do not consider. Understanding the world around you is important and the language that is spoken around you is critical to gaining that sense of understanding. I am passionate about language access, especially since I have spent time abroad, so I’m happy to be a part of the process.
What I do extra for our clients is ensuring that the translated content is cohesive with the source content provided. Thanks to my past studies, I have been able to identify where machines have made errors and I have corrected them before they get into the translators’ hands or maybe after I receive them so that the clients receive sensible work of good quality.
I have a great respect for Peace Corps. The people who go abroad for this organization are on a volunteer basis and often times, they work in harsh conditions in the name of creating better living conditions for others. I highly respect people who take themselves out of their own comfort zones and risk their own health for the sake others.
